Pre-release draft updated August 22, 2026
Counsel review required: This draft describes the product's current technical behavior and known limitations. It is not a certification of legal compliance and must be reviewed by qualified counsel before public app-store publication.
HandyDaddy is a marketplace service for customers and local service professionals. This policy explains the information the product currently handles, why it is used, and the service providers involved.
Information handled
- Account and profile information: name, username, email, phone number, role, profile media, business details, preferences, and verification status.
- Marketplace activity: requests, descriptions, categories, budget, timing, offers, appointments, jobs, reviews, favorites, reports, and support activity.
- Communications and files: chat messages, photos, videos, audio, PDFs, documents, and related metadata.
- Location information: addresses, approximate service areas, route destinations, and live coordinates only when a user chooses a location-sharing feature.
- Payment records: checkout, receipt, invoice, refund, tip, deposit, donation, and subscription status. Payment-card details are intended to be handled by the payment provider rather than stored directly by HandyDaddy.
- Device and operations data: device/platform details, push identifiers, login/activity records, notification preferences, IP address in service logs, diagnostic events, and security signals.
Sources
Information comes from users, their devices and app activity, other marketplace participants, identity and payment providers, and service-operation logs. Public profile or shared-link information can also be received by people who open a public link.
How information is used
Information is used to create and secure accounts, publish and match requests, support offers and jobs, enable chat and attachments, provide maps and notifications, support payments when enabled, investigate abuse, provide support, maintain records, and improve product reliability.
Service providers and external processing
- Amazon Web Services hosts identity, API, database, object storage, email/SMS delivery, monitoring, and other backend services.
- Amazon Bedrock receives the text and conversation context a user submits when invoking request, offer, chat, search, or support assistance features.
- Google Maps Platform receives address, destination, or coordinate data needed for address and map features.
- Google Firebase and platform push services support push registration and delivery.
- Stripe is integrated for checkout, payment-method, donation, and subscription workflows. The production payment account is not represented here as live or approved; current release documentation identifies sandbox/test linkage.
Additional providers may be added only after the policy, store disclosures, contracts, and release records are updated.
Sharing inside and outside the marketplace
Request and profile information is shared with marketplace participants as needed for discovery, offers, chat, and job delivery. Public profiles and intentionally shared links may be visible without signing in. Exact address, phone, and private attachments should remain restricted to authorized participants, but users should avoid uploading information they do not want the intended recipient to retain.
Retention and deletion
Retention varies by record type and operational need. A final retention schedule and lawful-retention rules require counsel approval. Account deletion removes many marketplace database records, but the automated deletion workflow is still being hardened. Until that remediation is verified, durable uploaded media and external recurring subscriptions require manual completion checks by support. Details are on the account deletion page.
Security
HandyDaddy uses access controls, encrypted transport, restricted object storage, secure mobile token storage, logging, and monitoring controls. No system can guarantee absolute security. Report suspected account or data misuse to support.
Choices and privacy requests
Users can adjust available profile, location, notification, and communication settings in the app. Applicable access, correction, deletion, or objection rights depend on the user's jurisdiction and require an identity-verification process. Email support for a request.
SMS and email
HandyDaddy sends account notification text messages only after a user actively chooses SMS verification or enables SMS notifications and accepts the accompanying SMS consent disclosure. PlanAhead is a HandyDaddy product. PlanAhead messages may include verification codes, account security alerts, cleaning confirmations, check-in and check-out reminders, review alerts, marketplace offers, crew invitations, and alerts that another user sent an in-app message. A new-message alert identifies the sender and may include a secure link that opens the relevant PlanAhead conversation; it does not include the private message body. Other HandyDaddy messages may include request, appointment, payment, and support updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS and HELP for help. SMS consent is not a condition of purchasing services. See the HandyDaddy SMS Terms.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are used solely to deliver the HandyDaddy messages described above and are not shared with, sold to, or transferred to any third party for their own marketing. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Children
The service is not designed for children. A final minimum-age and parental-consent policy remains subject to product and counsel approval. Do not create an account if you cannot legally agree to the service terms in your jurisdiction.
Policy changes
The date above will change when this policy is revised. Material changes should be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel before they take effect.
